Periodontal Splinting (for Weak/Mobile/Loose Teeth):

Periodontal Splinting (for Weak/Mobile/Loose Teeth):

Solution: Attaches the week teeth to healthy teeth using aesthetic glass fiber, with an adhesive and aesthetic resin, hidden behind the teeth.

  • Purpose: Stabilizes loose teeth.

  • Causes: Loose teeth due to lost gum tissue, injury, orthodontic treatment, or misalignment pressure.

  • Periodontal splinting attaches weak teeth together, creating a stable, stronger unit.

  • Procedure: Commonly done on front teeth using composite material to splint loose teeth to stable ones.

  • Popularity: This effective technique is widely adopted for its benefits in stabilizing loose teeth.

  • Teeth extractions could be potentially delayed. However, this will not treat any gum disease (which would’ve caused the teeth to become loose in the first place). Maintaining a high level of oral hygiene is advised.
